NEW NEWS ABOUT THE SERIES

Every year we are trying to make this tournament bigger, better and fair yet challenging.

The Submission Series will officially begin Sept 21 this year with part 2 being in mid oct, part 3 in early mar 2014, part 4 in early apr  and the finals at the Mind Body Soul in June of 2014.

In an effort to meet the growing demand of children and recreational competitors we are adding new divisions and adjusting the rules where needed.

March 2 at the Edmonton North Side Arashi Do will be tournament OPEN TO ALL AGES, EXPERIENCES AND AFFILIATIONS.

This year we are going to try to separate the divisions as follows:

Game
Children 4 & 5 – Light and Hvy Weight (Split up day of based on turn out)
Children 6 & 7 -Light and Hvy Weight (Split up day of based on turn out)

BJJ for Points, NO Subs
Juniors 8 & 9 – Light and Hvy Weight (Split up day of based on turn out)

BJJ with Basic Subs – Straight Armbars and Chokes (More details soon)
Juniors 10 & 11 – Light and Hvy Weight (Split up day of based on turn out)

BJJ with More Subs – Bent & Straight Armlocks and Chokes (As per IBJJF)
Juniors 12 & 13 – Light and Hvy Weight (Split up day of based on turn out)
Teens 14 – 16 – Light and Hvy Weight (Split up day of based on turn out)

We are going to use the Edm Tournament on March 2nd to see which divisions have the most interest, this will shape which divisions stay at the larger tournaments (Capital City Mar 23 and Mind Body Soul May 4).

Show your interest in keeping these divisions (or making more) by showing up to compete March 2nd in Edmonton (Everyone in the world is welcome)
