Last year, my son entered the No-Gi tournament @ Arashi-Do North, for ages 10-12 but we discovered that there were no submissions allowed for this age group (not even attempted submissions, which would be interrupted the ref, prior to being fully applied). Instead, all that was allowed were take-downs, sweeps and guard-passes. I took a look at the rules on this site, but I didn’t find this issue adequately addressed or maybe I missed it. Can you tell me:
If I register my son into this same division this year (i.e. 10-12, No-Gi) will he be permitted to attempt submissions or will all points be awarded for position and advancement, as per last year, with submission attempts prohibited?
i think you should allow submissions in the kids divisions 10-12. they are old enough to now when to tap and the ref can stop the fight, the same thing happend in ACE CHAMPIONSHIPS do you remember ?thank

There are NO submissions for the 10-12 year olds.
Winners are decided by points.
I’ll take a look at the rules and adjust them to be more clear.
