Series Part 1 in the Books
WOW!!! I am absolutely amazed by the support yesterday! I can’t believe how many people came out to compete and support the event. I am very thank full of all the competitors and schools that came out to make this the biggest one ever. 75 children and 71 adults came out to compete. AMAZING.
Also a big shout out to those that spent the entire day reffing and helping. Lane Binetruy, Ken Sumner, Paul Phul, Stephen Forde, Dale Wooley and Annie Constant did a super job running an event that far exceeded our expectations. Usually we are finished and out the door by 5, but it wasn’t over until 7:30pm.
That leads me to the next part. I am sorry it took so long and we try to stick to the schedule, but 50 extra people came out than the 100 we expected. Because of this the Adult Gi had to be cut down to Single Elimination. For this I am sorry. I am going to make a drawing in the next couple days from all the Adults for some special prizes and post it on Facebook. Be sure to check HERE on Tuesday to see if you won and what the prize is.
One of the biggest goals for these Series events are to be a feeder or practice tournament for the bigger ones, give new people some experience at a smaller, less intense atmosphere and get lots of experience with the double elimination, as well as be a grass roots movement for the children.
