The Submission Series is coming up…
The SUBMISSION SERIES Provincial Trials 2013/2014
There will be 4 events this year being held in Edmonton & Calgary. Competitors MUST pick the location which is closest to them and stay in that zone for the season. Out of the four events, the top 3 scores will decide who gets to compete for the ALBERTA SUBMISSION SERIES CHAMPION. Please take the time to familiarize yourself with this package as the rules will not be covered before the event begins.
For those interested in competing recreationally or are new to Jiu Jitsu competition, we are introducing a Recreational Tournament in an effort to be fair yet competitive. Those wishing to compete for the custom Championship Belt MUST enter the Championship Tournament

Hi submission series coordinator,
Is there going to be “any”
Leniency or exceptions
To competing “not” at the closest
Dojo. We live in Calgary area but want to compete in Edmonton so the kids from our same dojo don’t want to compete against each other so we can split the kids between locations.
Hi Ashley,
Normally no, you must compete in your area with the idea of the finals being the best of Edmonton vs the Best of Calgary.
But this year there is no Calgary one so you are welcome to come to Edmonton.
Hope to see you here next month
Hi Mike,
I just have one question for you regarding the submission series.
Our son has been taking BJJ at Donnan School for the past two years. We are not returning to the program or Donnan in September.
We have not yet decided where we will continue BJJ. We have two locations close to us – Arashi-Do Sherwood Park and Arashi-Do Fort Saskatchewan.
My question is: can our son still compete in the submission series if we have not yet decided on a dojo come September 14th?
Thanks for your time,
Elan Olson
